| Working experience and occupation | Dato' S.Sivasuriyamoorthy Sundara Raja ("Dato' Siva") brings over thirty-six (36) years of experience in investment promotion and facilitation, having served with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority ("MIDA") since 1989. He has held key leadership positions in Strategic Planning and Policy Advocacy, Investment Promotion, and the Incentive Coordination and Collaboration Office.
Dato' Siva completed two (2) international postings in Germany, leading MIDA's Cologne office from 2006 to 2009 and Frankfurt office from 2013 to 2017, focusing on attracting foreign direct investment from Germany and the Benelux region.
He has contributed to Malaysia's industrial development through initiatives such as the 2nd and 3rd Industrial Master Plans, the 8th and 10th Malaysia Plans, equity liberalisation of the manufacturing sector, formulation of investment incentives and policies, and the restructuring and empowerment of MIDA. He served as Director of Strategic Planning and Policy Advocacy from 2013 to 2018 and Executive Director for Investment Promotion from 2018 to 2021.
Since 2021, Dato' Siva has served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Investment Promotion and Facilitation, overseeing historic private investments that grew from RM309.4 billion in 2021 to RM378.5 billion in 2024, the highest in the nation's history, with MIDA-managed projects accounting for 57% of the RM1.3 trillion total approved. |
