| Working experience and occupation | He was the Chairman of Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB) since 12 January 2023 until 31 December 2025. Prior to his chairmanship in QSB, he served as the Minister of Education and Innovation of Sabah from May 2018 until July 2020. He began his career in the medical field in 1981 as a Medical Officer at Kuala Lumpur Hospital and thereon was transferred to various public health departments until opening his own private clinic in 1990. He has been actively involved in politics since 1990. He was previously the Member of Parliament representing Sipitang from 1994 until 2004. He was then appointed as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2004 to 2008. Under the Heritage Party (Warisan), he had been elected as the Warisan Head of Division for Sipitang and the Warisan Sabah Head of Information. With over 29 years of experience in the corporate sector, he has served as Chairman in several companies namely Bank Rakyat from 1994 to 2000, Saham Sabah Berhad from 2001 to 2004, Sedcovest Holdings Sdn Bhd from 1997 to 2004, Sabah Medical Center from 1996 to 1997 and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) from 2017 to 2018. |
