Dato' Sri Zohari has had a distinguished career in the Malaysian public service and corporate sectors. He began his public service journey in the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Prime Minister's Department, serving as Assistant Director from 1988 to 1993 and later as Senior Officer/Director of Privatization Section from 1995 to 2009. Between 2009 and 2013, he served as Deputy Director General at the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Unit under the Prime Minister's Department. In 2014, he was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Water & Green Technology and subsequently became the Secretary General of the Ministry of Works Malaysia from 2014 to 2018. From 2019 to 2020, he held the position of Chairman at the Malaysian Highway Authority.

In the corporate sector, he currently serves as Advisor at Rafulin Sdn Bhd (since 2023) and sits on the Board of Directors of Central Cable Berhad (2019 - present) and NAZA Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd (2019 - 2025). He was also previously Advisor to the Group Executive Chairman of NAZA Corporation Holdings Sdn Bhd (2019 - 2022) and Director at CIDB Holdings Sdn Bhd (2015 - 2019).

He is also active in the non-governmental and academic sectors, currently serving as President of the Malaysian Service Providers Confederation (2024 - 2026) and the Malaysian Association of Facility Management (2019 - 2025). He was an Adjunct Professor at University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia from 2017 to 2019.

Dato' Sri Zohari continues to contribute to the nation's development by advising government agencies and corporate entities, leveraging his extensive experience in project planning, public-private partnerships, and infrastructure development.
