Karel Avni Doshi is a seasoned banking professional with over 20 years of leadership experience across corporate banking, commercial banking, investment banking, and Islamic finance within Malaysia's financial services sector. She most recently served as Managing Director and Head of Commercial Banking at HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad, provided strategic leadership across multiple business segments, product lines, and regions nationwide.

Doshi's career spans leading financial institutions, provided comprehensive exposure to Malaysia's evolving banking landscape. Her early roles at AmBank Berhad (SME and mid-corporate relationship management), Affin Investment Bank Berhad (debt capital markets) and United Overseas Bank (Corporate Banking) laid a strong foundation for her expertise.

She subsequently spent 18 years at HSBC Bank Malaysia in progressively senior leadership roles, culminating in several Managing Director appointments. As Managing Director and Head of Commercial Banking, Doshi led the franchise across SMEs, large corporates and multinational corporations, achieved strong portfolio growth and expanded sustainable finance offerings-including green financing products and ESG frameworks-and delivered consistent financial performance that materially contributed to the bank's profitability.

Doshi's leadership has been recognized through numerous accolades, including 'Best Commercial Bank Malaysia' by The Asset (2023-2024), 'Market Leader for Trade Finance in Malaysia' by Asian Banking & Finance (2022-2023), 'Best Bank for Sustainable Finance' (2023), and 'Digital Bank of the Year' (2023). 

Doshi holds professional qualifications from Imperial College Business School and London Business School. She is a certified executive coach, former faculty member of HSBC's global Accelerating into Leadership programme and currently serves as Non-Executive Director of Junior Achievement Malaysia and member of Malaysia's 30% Club Chapter.
