Mohamad Damshal Bin Awang Damit was appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer of Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB) effective 2 February 2026. He brings over 30 years of experience in investment, portfolio and fund management, spanning equities, fixed income, property investments and private mandates across both Islamic and conventional funds. His career reflects deep expertise in institutional investing, asset management, and strategic capital deployment across diverse market cycles. He is entrusted with driving disciplined capital deployment and long-term value creation for Sabah.

In addition to his role at QSB, he continues to contribute at both strategic and academic levels. He currently serves as Chairman of Saham Sabah Berhad and CTS Horizon Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Celcom Timur (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd.) and sits on the boards of SMJ Energy Sdn. Bhd., Sabah Development Bank Berhad, and Suria Capital Holdings Berhad. He also contributes to academia as an Adjunct Professor at Universiti Malaysia Sabah and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.

He held senior leadership roles at prominent local and international institutions, including Managing Director of Amundi Asset Management from 2009 to 2012 and Chief Executive Officer of ACA Amanie from 2012 to 2015, followed by key investment leadership positions at the Social Security Organisation from 2016 onwards and at Lembaga Tabung Haji from 2020 to 2022. He later served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad from January 2023 to December 2025.
