The Board wishes to announce that the judicial manager of SMSB, En. Baltasar bin Maskor ("Judicial Manager"), has filed an application with the High Court to seek an extension of time to prepare and present the Statement of Proposals to the creditors of SMSB.
The Judicial Manager is seeking to extend the deadline from 28 August 2026 to 17 November 2026.
Under Section 420 of the Companies Act 2016, the Judicial Manager is generally required to prepare and present the Statement of Proposals to the creditors within sixty (60) days from the date of the JMO, unless the High Court allows a longer period.
As the JMO for SMSB commenced on 29 June 2026, the initial sixty (60)-day period will expire on 28 August 2026.
The extension of time is being sought to allow the Judicial Manager sufficient time to complete the necessary work and processes before presenting the Statement of Proposals to the creditors.
The application has been fixed for case management/hearing before the High Court on 17 August 2026.
The Board wishes to highlight that the statutory moratorium pursuant to Section 411(4) of the Companies Act 2016 shall continue to apply during the period of the JMO, subject to the terms of the High Court's order and the applicable provisions of the Companies Act 2016.
The Company will make further announcements as and when there are any material developments in relation to the above matter.
This announcement is dated 14 August 2026.
