Further to the announcement made on 6 September 2017, the Liquidator of the Company wishes to update shareholders of the following:
- The Company has not obtained tax clearance. Tax returns for Year of Assessment 2017 have been filed with the Inland Revenue Board. The Company’s tax agent is working with the Inland Revenue Board with the view to obtaining tax clearance as soon as possible. Final distribution of the remaining monies in the cash trust account will be made after tax clearance is obtained.
- The liquidation of Sona E&O (Perth) Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sona Goldhill Sdn Bhd (“Sona Goldhill”), is progressing to plan and is expected to complete by this month.
- Sona Goldhill, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sona, is now in members’ voluntary liquidation.
- Sona Exploration & Production (Thailand) Ltd has been struck off from the corporate register in British Virgin Island.
