Following the interim distribution made to eligible shareholders on 31 October 2016, the Liquidators wish to update shareholders that:
- Tax returns for up to Year of Assessment (“YA”) 2015 have been filed with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (“IRB”). Tax returns for YA 2016 will be filed by May 2017, in compliance with the requirements of the Income Tax Act 1967.
- Sona E&P (Perth) Pty Ltd (“Sona Perth”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sona Goldhill Sdn. Bhd. (“Sona Goldhill”) which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sona, has been placed in members’ voluntary liquidation with effect from 22 March 2017. Mr. Adam Pauls Nikitins and Mr. Samuel John Freeman of Ernst & Young have been appointed joint and several liquidators.
- Sona Goldhill and another subsidiary of the Company, Sona Exploration & Production (Thailand) Ltd, will be put into liquidation after court approval is obtained.
